UTC@MediaCityUK is a University Technical College for students aged 14–18 (Key Stage 4 and 5) at MediaCityUK in Salford, England, which opened in September 2015.[3]

The three key sponsors of the UTC are The Aldridge Foundation, The Lowry and the University of Salford.[4]
Admissions
UTC@MediaCityUK opened with a total of 310 student places starting in Years 10 and 12. Due to being a state funded school there are no admission fees or entry examination.[5] There catchment area[6] varies from Salford (Zone A) all the way to Thameside (Zone C).
Curriculum
Students choose one of three study specialisms at Key Stage 4: Radio, TV and Film; Interactive Media and Gaming or Visual Arts, Graphics and Design. At Key Stage 5 students choose from four study specialisms: TV and Film, Graphics and Design, Radio and Audio and Interactive Media and Gaming.[4]
The UTC specialises in digital and creative content, with employer partners playing a key role in the curriculum of the UTC by setting real life work experience projects. Through the projects, students study toward Level 2 and 3 qualifications. The curriculum also includes core GCSEs and A Levels in subjects such as Maths, English and Creative Writing.[7] [8]
