Taraf (Persian: طرف, also Romanized as Ţaraf; also known as Tarp)[1] is a village in Bedevostan-e Gharbi Rural District, Khvajeh District, Heris County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 227, in 51 families.[2] The name 'Taraf' is a Farsi word meaning "concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of imminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury."
