South Carolina elections, 2018

A general election will be held in the U.S. state of South Carolina on November 6, 2018. All of South Carolina's executive officers will be up for election as well as all of South Carolina's seven seats in the United States House of Representatives.

Governor and Lieutenant Governor

Beginning with the 2018 gubernatorial election, the offices of governor and lieutenant governor will be elected jointly as a ticket instead of being elected separately as in prior years.[1]

Incumbent Republican Governor Nikki Haley is term-limited and cannot run for re-election to a third consecutive term. Haley has been selected as United States Ambassador to the United Nations in the Donald Trump administration.[2] If Haley's nomination is confirmed, Lieutenant Governor Henry McMaster will become governor for the remainder of the term.[3]

Attorney General

Incumbent Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson is eligible to run for re-election to a third term. Wilson is considering running for governor instead of running for re-election.[4]

Potential Republican candidates include State Representative Peter McCoy and Greenville County Republican Party Chairman Chad Groover.[5][6]

Potential Democratic candidates include 1st Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe.[7]

Secretary of State

Incumbent Republican Secretary of State Mark Hammond is eligible to run for re-election to a fifth term in office.

Treasurer

Incumbent Republican Treasurer Curtis M. Loftis, Jr. is eligible to run for re-election to a third term in office.

Comptroller General

Incumbent Republican Richard Eckstrom is eligible to run for re-election to a fifth term in office.

Superintendent of Education

Incumbent Republican Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman is eligible to run for re-election to a second term.

Commissioner of Agriculture

Incumbent Republican Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers, who was appointed to the position in September 2004, is eligible to run for re-election to a fourth full term in office.

Adjutant General

Incumbent Republican Adjutant General Robert E. Livingston, Jr. is eligible to run for re-election to a third term in office.

United States House of Representatives

All of South Carolina's seven seats in the United States House of Representatives will be up for election in 2018.
