Nicolae Tătăranu

Nicolae Tătăranu (3 October 1890, Măicănești, Vrancea County – 13 May 1953, Bucharest) was a Romanian Major General during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded by the Third Reich to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

Nicolae Tătăranu served as military attaché in Paris from 1928 to 1931 as well as in Brussels (1929–1931) and Madrid (1930–1931).
