Lowndes is an unincorporated community in eastern Wayne County, Missouri, United States. It is located about twenty miles southwest of Marble Hill along State Highway E. The ZIP Code is 63951.
Notable residents
- Leo Goodwin, Sr., founder of GEICO, was born here in 1886.
Robert McCullough was an early county court judge. His term was from 1841-1857. He was a Methodist layman who opened his home for early church services. He was the first postmaster for the town of Lowndes in 1840, it was operated out of his log home, which is near the present day post office. His Son, George B.
