Libertad, officially the Municipality of Libertad (Karay-a: Banwa kang Libertad; Hiligaynon: Banwa sang Libertad; Filipino: Bayan ng Libertad), is a municipality in the province of Antique in the Western Visayas (Region VI) of the Philippines. The population was 16,429 at the 2015 census.[3] In the 2016 election, it had 9,481 registered voters.[4]

Geography

Libertad is located at 11°47′N 121°55′E / 11.78°N 121.92°E / 11.78; 121.92.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the municipality has a land area of 97 square kilometres (37 sq mi)[2] constituting 3.55% of the 2,729.17-square-kilometre- (1,053.74 sq mi) total area of Antique.
