Hard Lesbian: Genuine Tongue Technique (ハードレズ　本番舌技, Haado Rezu: Honban Zetsugi) is a 1992 Japanese pink film directed by Yutaka Ikejima and scripted by his wife Kyōko Godai. It won the Best Film 6th Place Award at the 1992 Pink Grand Prix ceremony.^[2]

Synopsis

Emi, a nude model, falls in love with Mako, a promiscuous lesbian. After much drama, Emi comes to the conclusion that the only way she can have Mako to herself is to kill her.^[3]

Background, availability and critical appraisal

Director Yutaka Ikejima had worked in pink film as an actor, appearing in over 500 of these softcore productions between his debut in 1981 and his directorial debut in 1988. He first worked as a director in the AV (adult video) field, turning to pink film directing in 1991 with The Masturbating Lesbian. Lesbian-themed pink films were usually made for the benefit of heterosexual male audiences who wanted to see two nude women together. Ikejima's lesbian films work against this by concentrating on character development and melodramatic plotlines. Hard Lesbian: Genuine Tongue Technique was one of Ikejima's earliest films, and, like most of his films, was scripted by his wife Kyōko Godai. Godai had previously come to prominence for her work with the controversial director Hisayasu Satō.^[3]

Ikejima filmed Hard Lesbian: Genuine Tongue Technique for Xces Films and that studio released it theatrically in Japan on December 25, 1992.^[4] Xces re-released the film on May 13, 2005 under the title Jukujo Kageki Rezu: Shita Garami (熟女過激レズ　舌絡み).^[5]

At the fifth annual Pink Grand Prix ceremony covering 1992, Hard Lesbian: Genuine Tongue Technique was named the Sixth Best Film of the Year. Lead actress Mako was also given one of the Best New Actress Awards at that same ceremony.^[2] In their Japanese Cinema Encyclopedia: The Sex Films (1998) Thomas and Yuko Mihara Weisser give Hard Lesbian: Genuine Tongue Technique a rating of three out of four stars.^[3]
