History
Finchampstead FC was founded in 1952 when the presentation of Finchampstead Memorial Park, a memorial ground in honour of those who served and died in the 1939–1945 war, made it possible for a village football team to be formed.[2] The club started playing in the Ascot & District League and moved to the Reading district league in 1956–57 and remained in the Reading league for 31 years.[2] During this period they won the premier division once in the 1982–83 season.[2] In the 1987–88 season they joined the Chiltonian league, and won it at their first attempt.[3] When the Chiltonian league merged with the Hellenic league the club, was put in the Hellenic League Division One East and have remained in this division since they joined, winning it once in the 2001–02 season.[4]
The club became a FA Charter Standard Club in 2003 and in 2012 signed a Partnership Arrangement with Reading F.C.[1][5]
