History

A former variant name was Farmers Station.[1] Farmers Station had its start when the railroad was extended to that point but the town site was not officially platted.[2] A post office called Farmers Station was established in 1859, and remained in operation until 1910.[3] Farmers Station which the road signs say today not Farmers, due to my insistence that it needed changed. the earliest settlers arrived in 1809. the weighing station shipped out 35,000 head of hogs in its hay day to the slaughter houses. I have a "farmers station group" started on Facebook for anyone who would like to post pictures of the village. the village still exists with 16 homes today but there were many more homes in the early 20th century.
