Bliżewo [bliˈʐɛvɔ] (German: Blieshöfen) is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Płoskinia, within Braniewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Płoskinia, 11 km (7 mi) south of Braniewo, and 70 km (43 mi) north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
