Blackpool by-election, 1900

The 1900 Blackpool by-election was held on 20 August 1900 after the incumbent Conservative MP Frederick Stanley became the sixteenth Earl of Derby and on entering the House of Lords had to resign his seat in the House of Commons. The seat was retained by the Conservative candidate Sir Matthew Ridley.
