Zetor is a tractor manufacturer based in Brno in the Czech Republic. Until 1990 it was a subsidiary of Zbrojovka Brno. The name itself arose in 1946 from merging "Zet" from the logo of Zbrojovka and the last two letters of the word tractor.[2] While Zetor is a Czech company, versions of its tractors are assembled in numerous countries including Argentina, Burma (Myanmar), India, Iraq, Uruguay and Zaire (Congo-Kinshasa).
Zetor has pioneered various innovations throughout its history. It was the first manufacturer in the world, which for tractors developed and introduced safety cabins.[3]
Zetor now produces four model lines of tractors: Major, Proxima, Forterra and Crystal. Power varies between 60 and 170 hp.[4]
