Westfalenbahn GmbH is a private railway company operating regional train service in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, northern Germany. It is owned by four companies sharing an equal share of the company 25% Abellio, 25% moBiel, 25% Minden Museum Railway and 25% Verkehrsbetriebe Extertal.
Since 9 December 2007, Westfalenbahn operates on behalf of the public transport companies of the Westfalen-Lippe area (Zweckverband Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe) and of Lower Saxony (Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen - LNVG).
Services
Westfalenbahn has operated routes RB61, RB65, RB66 and RB72 since December 2007 until at least December 2017. From December 2015 until December 2030 Westfalenahn will also operate the RE15, RE60 and RE70 services.
