The Vodafone on The Quay building (also known as 'Mobil on The Park' or 'Vodafone on the Park') was designed by Peddle Thorp & Montgomery Architects and was completed in 1999. The main architect on the build was Robert Montgomery and the building was built by Mainzeal Construction. The building was engineered by MK Lawson Limited.

Vodafone on The Park comprises two parts, the lower part is a refurbishment of the old central police station which once operated from the site and the upper part is a modernist high-rise building constructed of concrete with exterior façades of blue glass.

The building stands at 90 metres high and has twenty five stories above the ground,[1] making it the fifth tallest building in Wellington and the twenty third tallest building in New Zealand drawing with Bowen House also in Wellington and CityLife Auckland and City Garden in Auckland. The floor size is estimated at 28,000 square metres (300,000 sq ft). The construction was valued at $45 million.[2]
