Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar is an Indian Naval Officer from the Executive branch who has formerly the Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy (Dec 2013 to Feb 2016) [1] during its major period of expansion when the different schools located across the country shifted to the main campus at Ezhimala. the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations) of the Indian Navy from 2016. He is alumnus of Sainik School Kazhakootam and National Defence Academy and was commissioned on 1 July 1981.[2][3]
