Unfinished Girl is a 2007 Chinese drama film directed and written by Cheng Er. It marks Cheng's directorial debut.
Plot
The only two people in the world that care about Xiao Ke (Gao Yuanyuan), a lonely and terminally ill young woman, are her sister Xiao Feng and brother-in-law He Wei (real-life couple Tao Hong and Xu Zheng). One day, Xiao Ke befriends a mysterious Mr. Lin (Yan Po), who is quiet and suicidal. While Xiao Feng is away on a business trip, Xiao Ke kidnaps He Wei and ties him to a chair to interrogate him. Confused and shocked, He Wei learns that Xiao Ke is convinced, through very circumstantial evidence, that he was the murderer of her parents two decades ago.
Reception
Derek Elley of Variety calls it a "highly controlled psychodrama assembled in a brain-teasing way" and an "impressive feature debut".[1]
