Trones is a headland in the municipality of Verdal in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of the town of Verdalsøra, along the coast of the Trondheimsfjord. The villages of Nordskaget and Sørskaget are located on the headland, and they are combined together under the name Trones by Statistics Norway. The combined villages have an area of 0.17 square kilometres (42 acres) and have a population (2013) of 424. This gives the area a population density of 2,494 inhabitants per square kilometre (6,460/sq mi).[1]
