Transgenic Research, international in scope, is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed, scientific journal, published by Springer. The co-editors-in-chief are Paul Christou and Bruce Whitelaw.[1][2]
Scope
The focus of Transgenic Research is rapid publishing research pertaining to transgenic animals and plants (higher organisms). This focus covers the production of higher organisms, newly developed properties from the transgenic process, experimental applications, and environmental impact. The interdisciplinary nature of this research crosses between fundamental research in molecular biology and biotechnology, as well applications within these fields.
This journal covers all topics pertaining to insertion of transgenes into plants and animals, which result in novel metabolic or novel developmental properties demonstrated on the organism. This includes modification of endogenous genes. Coverage of disciplines, as related to transgenic technology, are physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, development, genomics, genetics, behaviour and exploitation
This journal also functions as a forum for ideas and techniques in all topics of transgenic technology and scope that covers a range of organisms from fungi to complex eukaryotic organisms. Issues related to this technology are also covered: public perception, regulatory topics, ethical issues, and intellectual property.
