Teale Coco Roiz (born 6 March 1992) is an Australian model, fashion designer, photographer and entrepreneur. She is the owner and designer of “Teale Coco”, her eponymous fashion label.

Early life and education

Coco was born in Melbourne, Australia to parents of European descent. She picked up her first camera at the age of 5, photographing herself and those around her. Starting in high school at at Wesley College with self portraiture, she began to photograph herself as model for her own concepts. She later studied photography at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, graduating in 2012. Coco said in and interview that whilst completing her studies, she was scouted for by a local modeling agency that placed her with her first international agencies in New Zealand, Korea and Japan.[1]

Having studied Japanese from childhood, after graduating she spent time in Japan, where she worked on contract with agencies in Tokyo and Osaka. During one of her trips to Tokyo she had the idea of starting a fashion line of fetish inspired accessories.[2][3] She began selling these accessories branded "Teale Coco" online.

Modeling

She featured on the front cover of FAINT magazine in March, 2013, shot in Melbourne, Australia.[4]

In 2015 Coco left Iconique Management and signed with London Management. Soon after she found international placements with Premier Models in London, England,[5][6] Monster Mgmt in Milan, Italy,[7][8] and Muse Models in New York City, United States.[9][10]

In 2016 Coco worked alongside Edward Enninful and Craig McDean photographing for W Magazine where she was a featured model and artist in the August issue.[11]

Coco appeared on the cover of L'Officiel Italia, September 2016, issue #17 with a nine-page editorial spread and interview on her fashion line, with photos shot by Brandon Mercer and styled by Nicola Formichetti[12]

Shortly after Coco then moved on to shoot in New York City with Terry Richardson and Marilyn Manson for Dazed magazine's 25th anniversary issue, styled by Nicola Formichetti, wearing her own eponymously named design paired with Diesel (brand).[13]

She has modelled in online editorials for NAKID magazine,[14] Schön! magazine,[15] KALTBLUT magazine,[16] Fashion Journal,[17] Elusive magazine,[18] and Vulkan magazine.[19]

She is listed in the online model directory models.com, which features a list of her work within the industry.[20]

Fashion design

Coco began her fashion career posting on Instagram. She was described as a “social media star” by I-D magazine in 2015.[1]

In 2013 Coco opened her self titled fashion label “Teale Coco”, selling her collections of fetish-inspired clothing and accessories.

November 4, 2015, ID Magazine describes Teale's designs as "empowering" in a exclusive interview & feature entitled "The Empowering Fetish Universe of Teale Coco"[1]

In 2015 Coco stopped selling directly online and started selling through the website Dolls Kill, where she is also featured modelling the designs. TEALE COCO is now stocked in Melbourne-based boutique KissKill Lingerie, where they released a Halloween collaboration in October, 2016.[21]
