Sycewice [sɨt͡sɛˈvit͡sɛ] (German Zitzewitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kobylnica, within Słupsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Kobylnica, 12 km (7 mi) south-west of Słupsk, and 116 km (72 mi) west of the regional capital Gdańsk.
The area had been part of the Holy Roman Empire (Duchy of Pomerania) since the 12th century, and from 1648 to 1945 part of Prussia and Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration by the Potsdam Agreement under territorial changes demanded by the Soviet Union. Most Germans fled or were expelled and replaced with Poles expelled from the Polish areas annexed by the Soviet Union.
The village has a population of 1,089.
