Stop the World is the second single from Extreme's third studio album III Sides to Every Story.
It was the first power ballad released from the album. Although it tried to match the success of the band's previous successful ballads "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted", it proved to be a commercial failure in the US. However, it did chart in the UK at #22.
