Stefan Allesch-Taylor

Stefan Paul Allesch-Taylor CBE is a British entrepreneur, businessman, philanthropist, and broadcaster.

Educated at Giggleswick School (1980-1987) near Settle in North Yorkshire.

He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours.[1]

Business

Allesch-Taylor is a London-based financier, serial entrepreneur, charity Chairman, philanthropist and change strategist.

As a Chairman, CEO and Senior Director in business, he specialises in public companies,[2] turn-arounds[3] and strategy change to maximize value for shareholders and stakeholders. After first serving as Chief Executive of a UK public company at 27 years old,[4] Allesch-Taylor currently oversees, through his Private Office, companies operating in more than 15 countries in ten different sectors.

He has co-founded and/or served on the Boards of companies in the hospitality, industrial, agriculture, retail, technology, sports, banking and financial services sectors. Allesch-Taylor is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority[5] as a corporate advisor, as well as being approved as a 'Controller' of an Asset Manager in Denmark and approved by the German Bundesbank as a 'Controller' of NordFinanz Bank AG, a German commercial bank.[6] He chairs the Audit Committees of several companies of which he is a board member.

Philanthropy

Allesch-Taylor is a former Board Member of The Prince's Youth Business Trust for London South,[4] and he has sponsored, co-founded and leads charities in the UK and Africa. He is co-founder and chairman of the Afri-CAN Charity,[7] operating in in Malawi and South Africa. which he established in 2010 with a $1m donation.[8] The Afri-CAN Charity is a social venture charity which supports vulnerable children and adults in the townships of Cape Town and in Malawi by creating sustainable projects. Allesch-Taylor is chairman of the British-based award winning charity Pump Aid.[9] Pump Aid has provided over 1 million people with access to safe clean water.[10] Allesch-Taylor is the co-founder, deputy chairman,[11] and principal funder[12] of the Central London Rough Sleepers Committee (CLRSC). The CLRSC holds events every two weeks in central london to provide meals and assistance for the homeless. He also is the chairman of Team-Up,[13] a UK based charity which supports thousands of underprivileged children in attaining their maths and English GCSEs.[14]

Broadcasting

Allesch-Taylor is a keen advocate of social ventures and start-ups. He presents his own live radio show called Stefan Means Business, previously called Stefan's Social Experience,[15] on London's Soho Radio. He interviews entrepreneurs and funders in the SME sector.

Film

Allesch-Taylor executive produces feature films and short films. He has been appointed a judge at the 2016 Triforce Film Festival held at BAFTA. TriForce was established to showcase emerging & diverse film-makers, giving them a platform to break through to the mainstream film industry.[16]
