Geography

Socx is around 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Dunkirk. Its area is 8 km2 (3.1 sq mi).

The arms of Socx are blazoned :

Argent, a lion sable armed and langued within a bordure gules. (Quaëdypre and Socx use the same arms.)

Governance

The current mayor is Christian Ley (term of office: 2008-2014). The mayor up to March 2008 was Charles Vandaele.
