Shmuel Moreh

Shmuel Moreh (Hebrew: שמואל מורה‎‎, Arabic: شموئيل موريه‎‎, born December 22, 1932 in Baghdad) is professor emeritus in the Department for Arabic Language and Literature at the Hebrew University and a recipient of the Israel Prize in Middle Eastern studies in 1999.^[1] In addition to having written many books and articles dealing with Arabic literature in general and Iraqi Jewish Arabic literature in particular, he has been a major contributor to Elaph, the first online daily independent journal. Professor Moreh writes in Arabic, Hebrew, and English.
