"She" (stylized as "sHe") is a song recorded by English singer and songwriter Zayn Malik. It appears as the fifth track on his debut studio album Mind of Mine. The song follows Malik narrating the life of a female protagonist who just wants to be loved "in the right way", and his attempts to accomplish that.[1]
Background
Prior to the album's release, Malik described the song as a "party tune", but claimed it was "not as intense lyrically" as the other songs on the album.[2] It incorporates 1980s synth sounds,[3][4] and an experimental hip hop outro that blends into the next track, the R&B anthem "Drunk"[5][6]

Reception
Axs said that it is "The album's best track", continuing to describe it as "one of the sexy cuts produced by MYKL. Funky synths back the 23-year-old as he depicts a girl who likes to get cozy in the club. Malik's a smooth operator, singing, "'Cause baby don't wanna be lonely / She says, 'I just want you to hold me.'"[7] Pitchfork said that "There’s a dexterity to "sHe" that seems vacuumed out of the rest of the album, his vocal moving nimbly among blurred pulses of guitar and inverted piano clusters. When he unleashes his falsetto, it pierces the track, a crystal tower rising through the surface of the earth".[8]
