Shasheendra Kumara Rajapaksa (known as Shasheendra Rajapaksa) is a Sri Lankan politician who was Chief Minister of Uva Province in Sri Lanka from 2009 to 2015., and former Basnayake Nilame (Lay Custodian) of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama devalaya. He is the eldest son of Chamal Rajapaksa and nephew of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.[1][2]
Rajapaksha lost his position as Chief Minister of Uva Province to UNP leader Badulla Harin Fernando in 2015, when 6 UPFA members joined Fernando. Rajapaksa along with the other members of his family was accused of misuse of state property in the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime.
