Sewari or Sewadi is a village located in the Bali tehsil of Pali district of Rajasthan state, amidst the Aravalli Range. There is also a dam nearby with the same name.
Demographics
The population of Sewari is 8,844 according to the 2001 census. Male population is 4,356 and female population is 4,488.
Temples
This is one of the largest villages in Bali tehsil. In this village there is a very old temple called Khetla Ji Mandir. There are many temples like Khetlaji, Brahmani Mataji (Dhomou), Mahadevji, Ambe mataji, Maha Laxmiji,Nimbaja Maata, Chamunda Mataji, Hanumanji, and two Jain temples. There are various tribes living in the Aravalli Mountain Range.
Mahavir Temple, one of the earliest Bhumija temples, is situated at Sewari in the Pali district of Rajasthan. This 11th-century temple is an elegant brick-built structure. It is a Pancha Rathas temple with five plasters.
There are many mandir of Brahmins and 52 jinalay Jains in Sewari. One new mandir is Shree Satyanarayan Ji.
There is also an Ayurvedic Manufacturing Unit named as LUNA PHARMA which has been for the last 10 years which is a GMP certified from the government of Rajasthan, and also having a good products for various diseases There is a famous temple of shrimahakalii mandir situated in nearby shri khetlaji temple near by road.this temple was first established by shri dasaji rao kharwad about 1331 ishvi.and rao chandisa samajsewari modified this temple on 27 April 1990 by pranpartshtha.shri chandisa rao samaj vikas samiti sewari is working for rao samaj samudayak bhawan and progress of children's and all chandisa rao samaj families. and working for destroy bad kuritis in samaj. shri mahakali chandisa rao samaj vikas samiti sewari is working in guidance of senior citizens.now shrimahakli mandir prayer expenses by one doner shri dashrath singh ujjawal up to 30 April 16. shri mahakali mandir sewari information collect by lekhraj s/o chunnilaji ujjawal jai maha kali namah.
History
Sewari's historical name was Sewanti Nagari. There were 100 step-wells (Sou Bawari) in Sewari. This is why this village is currently named Sewari. The village has been called Shri Wadi, Shatvatika, Shwet Pati, Seemapati, Shiv wadi-Sewadi. the Jain temple of bhagwan Mahaveer has some Lekhs of Vikram Samvat 1167 and 1172 about its oldness. In vikaram Samvat 2014, the temple has been renovated and Shantinath has been place inside and old statue of Bhagwan Mahveer is placed outside for the prosperity of the village as per one Jain Acharya.[1] There is one very old Charbhuji Temple, near Police Chowky., which was near more than 100 years old.There is also old temple name somnath mahadev mandir on lunava road opposite to vella-vagichi near Barla Vera {Old Bus Stand}.The old stepwells are near Khetlaji Temple and Ramdwara temple.The Govt. Higher Secondary Secondary School in the village is very old and famous educational institution in the area.
People enjoy many festivals every year. Sonana Khetlaji Mela is one of the famous occasions celebrated during every year when folk dance Gair is played and great hospitality is served by the localities.
