Septic thrombophlebitis is a skin condition that results in tender, swollen extremities with or without erythema.[1]

Causes

It can occur following a throat infections, dental procedures, gingivitis, or central lines.[2] Follow pregnancy septic pelvic thrombophlebitis may occur.[3]

Treatment

Treatment may involve heparin.[4]
