Sengapaduthankadu, also known by the shorter Sengai, is an agricultural village in Cauvery Delta area. It comes under Pattukottai taluk and Thanjavur district. Pattukottai is the nearest town, which is around 10 km to the west of the village. Sengai surrounded by various villages like Thuvarankurichi, Thamarankottai and Manjaval.
Sengapaduthankadu is the birthplace of the great poet Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram. The village is near to the sea.
Manora (a big tower used by olden kings to guard the entry against enemies) is nearby this village.
