Seharabazar is a town in the Bardhaman subdivision of Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[1] Seharabazar had a population of 42,291. Males constitute 68% of the population and females 32%. Seharabazar has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 67%. In Seharabazar, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education

Seharabazar has three primary, one secondary and one higher secondary schools(Seharabazar Chandrakumar Institution).Seharabazar high school is the higher secondary school for boys,11-12 for boy's and girl's.Established in 1946.[2] Apart from the govt school two public schools are the Anandya Marga school and Nabankur public school. Kisolaya is one of the center for different arts. It has one college providing undergraduate studies in different areas.

Transport

Seharabazar is 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Bardhaman town the Arambagh-Bardhaman main line.And 24 km from Arambag.

The State Highway 7 (West Bengal) passes through Seharabazar.[3]
