Scirpophaga occidentella is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Walker in 1863.[1] It is found in Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Tanzania.[2]
The wingspan is 16–22 mm for males and 20–30 mm for females. The fore- and hindwings are white. Females have a pale ochreous white anal tuft.[3]
The larvae feed on Oryza sativa.[4]
