Sankardev Shishu Niketon Ghilamara was established on 19 January 1997 at Ghilamara Milan Nagar, at a distance of 500m from Ghilamara town. This school is run by the Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam; a state-level affiliate committee of Vidya Bharati and the present principal of this institution is Gobinda Chutia. Along with the facilities like Digital classroom, Library with more than 2000 books, computer laboratory, Sankardev Shishu Niketon Ghilamara received the "best school award" among the schools of Dhakuakhana sub division in the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 based on HSLC examination result.((citation needed))
