San Miguel Stakes
The San Miguel Stakes is a race for thoroughbred horses held at Santa Anita Park, located in Arcadia, California. As of 2009, the running of the San Miguel Stakes was shifted from the beginning of January to the end of March. The race is open to three-year-olds willing to sprint six furlongs on the dirt and carries a purse of $75,000. It is prep to the Santa Anita Derby and other stakes at Santa Anita.
Tompion came in third, and T.V. Lark placed in 1960. Linda's Chief won and Ancient Title placed in 1973. Bold Forbes placed in 1976. A filly, Motivity, won in 1981. Precisionist won in 1984.
