Sportverein Bavenstedt is a German association football club based in the Bavenstedt quarter of Hildesheim, Lower Saxony.
History
Founded on 1 February 1946, the club spent most of the 20th century playing in the lower leagues of Hildesheim and Hanover region. In the early 2000s it gained two successive promotions from the Bezirksliga Hannover to the Landesliga, and in 2006 achieved its greatest success by winning the Landesliga Hannover title and moving up to the Niedersachsenliga (V). After four seasons in the fifth tier and finishing among the bottom seven in the western division SV was relegated in 2010, as the Niedersachsenliga reformed into a single division,[1] back to the Landesliga where they play at present.[2]
