Roshan Sebastian
Roshan K. Sebastian is a child singer, son of Sebastian (father) and Mini (mother).
About Roshan
Roshan was born on 19 June 1997 at Kannur, Kerala State. Roshan’s mother tongue is Malayalam. Even though he was born in Kerala he has spent most of his time in Tamil Nadu—first in Coimbatore and now in Chennai. Though his mother tongue is Malayalam he sang Tamil songs in the Malayalam musical competition Gandharva Sangheetham. His singing earnt him an award for the most 'expressive singer' in Airtel Super Singer Junior Season 1.
Career
He began singing professionally age 9 when he participated in the Gandharva Sangeetham competition on Kairali TV. He entered Airtel Super Singer Junior 2007 and was among the "top 5".[1] He was eliminated at the semi-finals. Roshan, along with his best friend and his previous co-contestant, Balasarangan, entered again Airtel Super Singer Junior season 2. In the grand opening in which he competed against the "super singer 2006" Nikil Matthew he sang "Chandana Tendrale" song.
Achievements
- Roshan won second place in the Gandharva Sangeetham competition and received 2 lakhs as cash award and medal and certificate from the singer Dr. K.J. Yesudas.
- In the semi-finals of Airtel Super Singer Junior, Roshan was awarded "Best Expressive Singer".
- Roshan was among the top 3 finalists on Airtel Super Singer Junior 2
- He was awarded the consolation prize in the Airtel supersinger junior 2 Grand finals.
- He is also nicknamed as "Paadum Ilaya Nila"—the senior paadum nila being none other than legendary SP Balasubramaniam.
