Rosamond "Rose" Wilkinson (March 19, 1885 – December 18, 1968) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. She served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1944 to 1963.

Political career

Wilkinson was first elected to public office as a Calgary city councillor in 1935.[1]

Wilkinson then ran as a Social Credit candidate in the Calgary provincial electoral district in the 1944 Alberta general election. She was elected to the district taking the third seat of five and officially elected on the 15th count.[2]

Wilkinson ran for a second term in office in the 1948 Alberta general election. She won first place in the constituency and was elected on the first ballot.[3] She would keep her top spot in her bid to win a third term at office in the 1952 Alberta general election.[4]

The 195 Alberta general election saw Wilkinson lose significant support. She barely hung onto a seat winning the fifth out of six seat in the district.[5] Calgary electoral district was abolished in favor of single member riding's. Wilkinson ran in the new electoral district of Calgary North. She defeated two former Members of the Legislative Assembly to win her final term in office.[6]
