Biography

Padilla began studying the piano at the age of 9 and attended the "Escuela Metropolitana de Musica" (Metropolitan School of Music) in San Pedro Sula. At the age of 16, he became a Christian and during that time he wrote his first songs which are lyrically focused on matters concerned with the Christian faith. Padilla has also worked in commercials, jingles and voice-over material for some of Honduras's top Christian radio stations.[2]

Career

In 2005 he was awarded first place in a competition organized by a popular Christian radio station called "Stereo Mass" in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Over a thousand people participated in the radio contest, in which the public voted to elect a future presenter, and then he became part of the staff on a radio show called "Cristianos en Linea" (Christians Online).

In 2006 he performed one of his songs at the Teatro Nacional Manuel Bonilla (Manuel Bonilla National Theatre) in support of "Fundación Teleton" (Telethon Foundation).

He released his debut album "Todo Por Cambiar" in 2008. Rony traveled Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and The United States performing in colleges, high schools, especially churches, universities and music festivals.

At the end of 2010 he recorded his second album "Rony Padilla Live in London" where hundreds of people gathered on a live concert at the "Rock Tower" in Islington, London. Rony became the first Latin American musician to record a live CD/DVD in the United Kingdom.[3] In June 2012 Rony became the first Latin American singer to perform at the "Big Church Day Out", the biggest one-day Christian event in the United Kingdom.[4]

In June 23, 2012 Padilla performed at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London, as part of the headlining and supporting acts for Muyiwa Olarewaju.[5]

Rony has just released a new acoustic EP called 'Altar of Worship', which expresses his thirst for God in a deeper way and creates an intimate and personal experience in worship.

Every year, Rony takes part in the annual “Expovida London” Worship Conference, which is an exhibition of Christian resources, international ministries, and media.[6] [7] [8]
