Rob Stringer

Robert Adrian Stringer (born 13 August 1962 in Aylesbury, England) is a record executive and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment until April 2017.

He is the younger brother of Sir Howard Stringer, who was Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation since April 2012, when he was replaced by Kazuo Hirai.[1] Although he is not Jewish, he was awarded the UJA-Federation of New York’s Music Visionary of the Year Award in 2013.[2]

UJA federation of New York: "Columbia Records’ Rob Stringer Gets Music Visionary Award" June 24, 2013 |"Colleagues and friends, and even Stringer himself, poked fun at the fact that he was receiving the award though he is not actually a member of the tribe. In a tongue-in-cheek video that played at the start of the luncheon, his daughters remind him he had only a month to go until the UJA-Federation event, so he should “know more about the Jewish faith.” In response, Stringer gets a “live-in rabbi” with whom he peruses Judaism for Dummies and studies Talmud."
