Reformed Fundamental Church in Russia
The first Reformed church was organised by Dutch and French immigrants in Tula in 1632. To confess Calvinism in Russia was a crime. Foreigners were allowed to practice their faith. In Tula many educated merchants were members of the Reformed church. Under Communism many Reformed people suffered martyrdom. After 1992 the church was reconstructed and in 1994 it was registered by the government. The Calvinist community in Tulsa confess a strict form of the Reformed faith, only members can participate in the Lords Supper. The Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort and Nicene Creed were officially adopted. The Reformed Fundamental Church in Russia had 2,261 members in 8 congregations and 8 house fellowships.[1]
