Rajat Sharma (born 18 February 1957 in Delhi, India) is the chairman and editor in chief of an Indian Hindi news channel, India TV. He is one of India's most prominent journalists.
Career
Sharma is currently the chairman and editor-in-chief of India TV, as well as host of "Aap Ki Adalat" news bulletin.[1] He is said to be "close to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley".[2]
Personal life
Rajat Sharma is originally from Delhi and his family lived in poverty.[2][3] He married TV producer Ritu Dhawan.[4][5]
Awards
He was conferred with Tarun Kranti Award at Rohini, New Delhi on 23 August 2014 along with Poorva Joshipura, the CEO of PETA.[6]
Sharma has been conferred with the Padma Bhushan by Government of India in 2015 in the field of Literature and Education. He received a Padma Bhushan from President Pranab Mukherjee in March 2015.[7]
