Raghu Karumanchi is an Indian actor from Andhra Pradesh predominantly appears in Telugu films as a comedian, and supporting actor. He also acted in He acted in more than 150 films.[1][2][3] He also lead a team called Roller Raghu in the popular comedy show Jabardasth on Eenadu TV Channel.[4] He made his debut as an actor with the film Aadi starring Jr. NTR.[5] He got brake as an actor with the film Adhurs.[2] He also acted in 1500 TV episodes in 32 titles on various channels.
Life
His native place is Govada near Tenali. He was born and brought up in Hyderabad.[2] His father Venkata Rao is a retired army officer and his mother Sitamahalakshmi is a housewife.[4] He completed his Masters in International Marketing and Information Technology and worked in TVS electronics group for 14 years.[4][6] He is married to Vani on August 4, 2000. She has an M.A in Political science from Nagarjuna University. The couple has two daughters Jhansi Swaapnika and Tejaswi.[2] He has an younger brother Karumanchi Srinivas. He is quite active on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Career
V. V. Vinayak, and Surender Reddy are good friends of Raghu since they started their journey with the films. They invited him to be a comedian in films. He thought it to be a good career option. He started as a comedian in the film Aadi directed by V. V. Vinayak. He also has a good rapport with Jr. NTR. He acted with him in most of his films.
He also appeared in 1500 TV episodes in 32 titles on various channels.[4] He worked with all the contemporary Telugu heroes[7] except Balakrishna, and Pawan Kalyan. He worked with almost all contemporary directors except S. S. Rajamouli and Trivikram Srinivas.
Social awareness
He received an award from Prasar Bharati and UNICEF for producing the best short film on saving the girl child in 2006.[8] He worked with Richard Gere for TV commercials on AIDS awareness.
