Rádió Rock 95.8 is a Hungarian rock music radio station, owned by Favorite Masters Kft.. It is the first radio station which boradcasts rock music exclusively.
On 17 May 2016, the Rádió Rock began broadcasting. The radio station aimed to gain 2,5 million listeners therefore it is available online as well.[1]
Rádió Rock's main principle is to give possibility to the Hungarian rock, Hungarian alternative, indie and metal music scenes.[2]
Hungarian metal bands like The Idoru,[3] Ektomorf,[4] FreshFabrik[5] could debut in a Hungarian radio station for the first time.
The radio station also airs songs by Hungarian alternative and indie bands such as Heaven Street Seven,[6] The Trousers[7] and Ivan and The Parazol[8] which were excluded from other Hungarian radio stations.
Ownership
Rádió Rock is owned by István Vörös and Gábor Németh. Therefore, the radio station is concerned to be the only one radio station in Hungary which is not owned by the Fidesz media moguls Andy Vajna and Árpád Habony.[9]
