Subspecies

Description

Frons entirely brownish black; abdomen yellowish beneath; the wings with commontriangular green-yellow area; the brown marginal area with blackish hues parallel to the margin. Colombia to Bolivia; a very common species in the Andes.

lamis R.& J. The posterior cell-spots of the forewing large, very distinct also beneath. Colombia.

leucaspis Godt. The cell-spots of the forewing smaller, usually only indicated beneath, the two outer posterior cell-spots more widely separated from one another. Eastern slopes of the Andes, from Ecuador to Bolivia. [2]
