Head of Mari El
The Head of the Republic of Mari El (formerly President of Mari El Republic) is the top elected official of Republic of Mari, Russia, who serves as the head of state. Until May 2011, the position was called "the President". Since the fall of the Soviet Union, three people have served in this position.
