Political Theory is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of Political Science. From 2005 to 2012 the journal's editor was Professor Mary G. Dietz (Northwestern University),[2] she was succeeded by Professor Jane Bennett (Johns Hopkins University - Department of Political Science).[1] It has been in publication since 1973 and is currently published by SAGE Publications.
Scope
Political Theory publishes articles on political philosophy from philosophical, ideological and methodological perspectives. The journal provides an interdisciplinary forum for the development and exchange of political ideas. Political Theory contains articles which aim to address historical-political thought, modern political theory and the history of ideas and critical assessments of current work.

Political Theory is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2014 impact factor of 0.576, ranking it 99th out of 161 journals in the category "Political Science".[3]
