Planview is an American software company founded in 1989 in Austin, Texas. The company specializes in project and resource management software development. It provides solution for Resources management, Financial Management, Team collaboration etc. In 2010, the company moved to the cloud to offer a software as a service (SaaS) services.[1] The company's eponymous flagship software is Planview Enterprise (Version 12 as of 2016), a project portfolio management application.[2]
History
The company was founded in 1989 in Austin, Texas by Patrick Durbin. In 1997, the company launched complete web based resource and portfolio management software. Planview acquired Projectplace in August 2014 and Troux Technologies, another Austin-based software company, in May 2015. On August 1, 2016, the company announced it acquired the San Francisco-based Innotas, extending its IT PPM leadership into the mid-market. The newly combined entity will establish Planview as the premier supplier of Work and Resource Management solutions, creating a $180 million global company with approximately 700 employees and more than 3,000 customers.
Corporate governance
As of 2014, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Planview was Gregory S. Gilmore.[3]
