Pijush Bandyopadhyay is a Bangaldeshi stage, television and film actor.[1] He is a former Managing Director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).[2]
Career
Bandyopadhyay started his acting career through the theatre troupe "Bahubachan". Later, he worked with "Natyachakrais". In 1973, he, along with Nasiruddin Yousuff and Selim Al Deen, founded the troupe "Dhaka Theatre".[1]
Bandyopadhyay also directed stage plays including "Meenkanya", "Ekatturer Khudiram" and "Ekatturer Galpo". He acted in films like "Aagami", "Ekatturer Jishu" and others.[1] In 2007, he published a recitation album titled "Tui Razakar".[3]
Bandyopadhyay was a freedom-fighter at the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.[4]
Personal life
Bandyopadhyay is married to actress Joyosree Kor Joya.[5]
In October 2015, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) sued Bandyopadhyay and three others in connection with embezzlement of over Tk 3.46 crore while procuring equipments for the BFDC.[2]
