Pierre Legendre (historian)
Pierre Legendre (born 15 June 1930 in Normandy, France) is a French historian of law and psychoanalyst. Legendre holds a position of research director at the École pratique des hautes études. His work is primarily devoted to the history of juristic institutions and concepts (Roman law and Canon law) and to the anthropology of Western civilization.8
Legendre has collaborated in the making of a number of films, shown on ARTE and other television stations: The Fashioning of Western Man (1996), Mirror of a Nation: Ecole Nationale d'Administration and Dominium Mundi: The Empire of Management (2007), all produced and distributed by Ideale Audience International, Paris.
