Pavlo Klymets
Pavlo Anatoliyovych Klymets (ukr. Павло Анатолійович Климець, born in 1967, 23 July, Donetsk) — is a Ukrainian politician, entrepreneur.
Biography
He graduated from the Donetsk Technical College of Industrial Automation and from the Donetsk National University with a degree in finance. In 2006 he defended his dissertation and received a PhD in governance.
Klymets’s professional career began in 1985, when he worked as an electrical fitter in the Donetskshahtoprohidka trust. During 1986-1988 was in the Soviet Army.
In 1992 he served as the director of the Pobutekhnika CLSC.
In 1997 he became the director of the LTD “Olymp” and subsequently the Chief Executive of the group of companies “Olymp”.
Currently Mr. Klymets is a member of the editorial board of the international magazine “Akcyz” «Akcyz».
In accordance with the rating prepared by the “Focus” «Focus» magazine, Pavlo Klymets is number 89 of the wealthiest man in Ukraine.
Political activity
In 2006 he was elected as the deputy of fifth convocation of the [ [Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine] ] and headed parliamentary Sub-Committee on Regulation of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on finance and bank activity.
From 2007 he became the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of VI convocation, the member of the parliamentary Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex (hereinafter AIC) and Land Policy.
From 2009 Pavlo Klymets became a member of the temporary investigating commission of the inefficient use of state holdings on the AIC.
“I would prefer to class myself as a sectoral lobbyist. Being the representative of the public at the Parliament I’m trying to protect our manufacturers suitably presented all over the world applying my experience in business. […] Today every entrepreneur depends on the State policy while every politician depends on business-elites. But the predominant opinion of the public disapproves this natural interconnection. Therefore, the question is whether the public is ready to see the truth”.

While working at the Parliament Mr. Klymets worked out and presented several draft laws with a view to foster the development of the AIC in Ukraine. He was the initiator of draft laws relating to the licensing of alcohol and tobacco, excise tax, the promotion of viticulture, horticultural establishment, hop growing, biofuel, reforming of the AIC and maintenance of the agriculture.
Particularly due to the efforts of Mr. Clymets the unique in Ukraine AIC project was realized. Namely, in Kharkov region from scratch was created an industrial AIC complex “Malynovka”. It consists of four facilities: beverage and packaging plants, glass works and grain complex processing industry.
“Sometimes large corporations are established on the basis of the idea downed upon the owner after he just drank a cup of coffee or read the incentive article. My own way in business is quite standard for people of my age. When the Soviet Union had broken up everybody tried to find his cup of tea. I dedicated myself to business”.
In 2009 Pavlo Klymets initiated the establishment of the Donetsk Bank Union which currently is headed by him.
Mr. Klymets is the founder of the Charity initiative "Ukraine — the Middle East" created with the aim to develop the business and cultural relations between Ukraine and countries of the Persian Gulf.

In the 2014 parliamentary election Klymets tried to become re-elected into parliament as an independent candidate in single-member districts number 176 situated in the Chuhuyiv; but failed to do so after gaining only 1.45% of the votes.[1]
Family
Pavlo Klymets has two sons and a daughter.
