Pavle Stanimirovic (born May 10, 1972), a.k.a. Paul Montana, is a Serbian-American media personality, writer, and reformed criminal. The son of Vojislav Stanimirović, Pavle retired from a life of crime and incarceration and became a Miami-based writer and media personality. He is a criminal authority, safe-cracker, jewel thief, and a former founding member of the YACS, who are closely tied today to the Pink Panthers in Europe.

Early life

Pavle Stanimirovic was born in New York on May 10, 1972. His parents were Serbian immigrants from Yugoslavia. Branka Teofilović, his mother, was an artist, model, and art instructor. His father, Vojislav, worked in various professions (journalist, gem dealer, restaurant owner and several others) before drifting into crime after being faced with extortion by the Mafia. Vojislav's early claim to fame was the Vizcaya Heist.^[1] The priceless valuables^[2] were mostly unrecovered.^[3]

As Paul Montana, he was married to Sports Illustrated model Ashley Richardson from 1992-93.^[4] The marriage was annulled.^[5] In 1991 he shaped the Miami nightclub The Whiskey.^[6]

Incarceration and post-prison life

Pavle Stanimirovic spent a total of 16 years incarcerated, from 1994–99 and 2003-10. Since his release from prison in 2010, Stanimirovic has embraced the Jewish faith and a lawful life. His talent as a writer and colorful life story have led to collaborations with established members of the profession; he is working on a true crime work telling the true story of the Vizcaya Heist ^[7] with Daniel Simone, is writing media pieces with fellow ex-con Daniel Genis (whom he met at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in 2007) and serving as an authority on criminal subjects for the radio programs of Burl Barer.

Recently, Pavle has served as an authority on criminal subjects. He has speculated about the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris for Inside Edition.^[8] Punch also participated on the Philly Snaps radio show regarding the Paris robbery.^[9] Stanimirovic contributed to Washington Post articles^[10] and Daily Beast works, like one written with Seth Ferranti on The Pink Panthers.^[11]

Despite all, he has also been recognized as an extraordinarily lucky man,^[12] having hit a series of jackpots^[13] in casinos around the nation often enough to be banned from many.^[14]
